VOIP and Asterisk / Trixbox Introductory Training Course

The one day asterisk / trixbox training workshop will give you an overview of the use of Voice over IP and to provide hands-on experience of selecting IP phones and softphones and their use with the Trixbox PBX and Skype.

This will enable you to make informed decisions when changing your existing phone system to a Voice Over IP or soft phone solution.

The workshop contains a mix of presentations and hands-on sessions. You will have an IP phone and work-station to use during the workshop.

A variety of IP phones and ATA's including models from Snom, Linksys and UTStar will be available for demonstration.

Topics covered include:

• VoIP Overview
• Choosing the right hardware for you
• Asterisk and Trixbox
• Softphones - Using and interfacing with Skype and MSN
• Using Information Providers

No previous experience of telephony or Voice Over IP is necessary for you to benefit from this workshop.

At the end of the workshop you will be familiar with the essentials of Voice over IP and with the basic configuration of the Asterisk PBX and IP telephones and Skype.
